13 is a Broadway musical with music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown and a book by Dan Elish and Robert Horn. It follows Evan Goldman, a teenager who moves from New York City to a small town in Indiana, dealing with his parents’ divorce, preparing for his Bar Mitzvah, and trying to fit in at a new school. The show is unique for having a cast and band made entirely of teenagers. It opened on Broadway on October 5, 2008, at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre and ran until January 4, 2009, playing 105 performances. The production featured Graham Phillips, Allie Trimm, and the Broadway debuts of Ariana Grande and Elizabeth Gillies, later stars of Victorious.
